Solis Ortus is a piece of music originally written for a dance performance with the company Nous & Moi, during the 2023 edition of Festival Altitudes, in Bulle, Switzerland.

That year's festival theme was "invisible", and our composition was inspired by local legends, where invisible ancient residents are still roaming the grounds of the old Carthusian Monastery called La Part-Dieu, situated in the middle of a forest in the Gruyeres region where the festival took place.

We spent two days working altogether, the dancers, the invisible residents, me and my semi acoustic bass, an electric guitar and an iPad filled with synths, to offer a 20 minutes intimate show to festival-goers at sunrise, in the parc near the cloister.

This piece was recorded after the performance, and keeps the essential three movements in a condensed 11:20 minutes listening experience.
